Artistic Director : Malini Krishnamurthi

A Profile in Brief.

Dr. Malini Krishnamurthi, is a highly acclaimed performer, choreographer and teacher of Bharatha Natyam. Having been trained for over several decades under the careful guidance of Kalaimamani Guru Shri Kalyanasundaram of the Sri Rajarajeswari Bhartha Natya Kalamandir Bombay, Malini has established herself as a distinguished exponent of Bharatha Natyam. Malini has several noteworthy performances to her credit in Inida, United States and Europe. Her elegant, graceful and vigorous presentations have won accolades from connoisseurs and critics.

Besides being a celebrated performer of Bharatha Natyam, Malini has established the Natyanjali Foundation for the Performing Arts to preserve and promote Indian art and culture in Los Angeles, California. As its Artistic Director, Malini has taken the young and the uninitiated and trained them to reach advanced levels of training and has presented them in their maiden performances, solo performances and ballets. Her students are testimonials of her ability as a meticulous teacher. As a choreographer, Malini has produced several major dance productions and welcomes collaborative compositions with artistes and dance styles native and foreign to Bharatha Natyam.

Malini also serves the community as an Arts advisor, commentator and observer.
